Where to Find Used Cars for Sale - Private Owners Vs Dealerships

It does not matter whether you are purchasing used car from a private owner or dealer, both modes can be daunting if you don’t know how to check a used car. Both of the mentioned modes have their own advantages and disadvantages, it only depends on your personal capability how you deal them.
Below mentioned are some advantages and disadvantages of these modes for the readers so they compare them and know which one is better for them.

Dealership Pros and Cons:
Most of the licensed dealers would not want to sell stolen cars to their customers, as it can be problematic for both of them later in future. If you approach a better company, they can also provide you assistance in finance as well. You can ask them for warranties, as they usually offer. There can a number of ways through which you can approach a famous dealer in your area. You may also purchase a car from a dealer online through the website. They have trained technicians who do their best to check the cars before putting them on sale. If found any problem, they would first fix it and then put it on list for sale. They take much care of their personal reputation, so they do their best to provide what is the best for their customers. These customers are most genuine way to make them famous, so they don’t cheat them.

There may have some cons about them as well like the cars purchased by them are always costly. If approached by an agent, you will have to pay handsome commission to your agent. They usually have experienced salesmen who are surely expected to give you tough time while bargaining. They usually don’t have any fixed salaries and work for the commissions they receive on each sale they made for the owner. So, they are very tricky and don’t offer an easy negotiation.

Private Party Pros and Cons:
With a private party, you feel yourself more confident and are always in a better position to negotiate the price of the car. The prices offered by private parties are always lower than those demanded by dealers. There might be some visible defects on the body of the car that can put you in a better position for negotiations.

There are more cons as compared to pros. You are dealing with a person you don’t know anything for sure. Most of the paperwork will be completed and submitted by you, as he is less likely to take any interest in it. You need to check the vehicle carefully, as he will not take any responsibility for any defect once you purchase the car.
